10:55.03 gabbar1947 brlcad: all i can figure out now is that , 4D coordinates are nothing but the 3D coordinates transformed from euclidean to homogeneous coordinates and HCROSS() will basically return the cross product of those 3D points with the fourth coordinate as 0 coz, as such the cross product of two 4D vectors doesnt exist. Do you feel this is in the right direction ?

15:21.15 ``Erik erm, whenever you need a cross product? a homogenized vector has 4 elements, but isn't 4d... there is no w axis (but w is not necessarily discardable)... it's more of a normalizing factor to allow multiplying by 4x4 matrices

17:52.42 gabbar1947 but there seems to be an issue: the function will not be defined if the fourth coordinate is 0, which basically refers to the 3D point at infinity. How should this be approached ?

22:07.24 xfactor Hi all ! I'm Bill Fosam and I'm interested in working with BRL-CAD in GSoC 2017. It's my first time participating and I'll like to know what material I should familiarize myself with in order to be able to contribute to this organization. I'm particularly interested in Creating X3D and building Object-oriented C++ Geometry API. I'm not familiar with developing CAD software but I'm willing to lea
