This is our 10th GSoC! Students, please introduce yourself on the #Google Summer of Code stream, ask questions, and try doing the MGED tutorials on the website (under docs) -- that's just the basics, but will get you started and help you understand other terminology later.

Hello everyone interested in working on BRL-CAD under the Google Summer of Code! We welcome all skill levels and custom projects, but they must be scoped to your abilities and interests. Please introduce yourself at #Google Summer of Code if you haven't already. Everyone applying must submit a pull request related to BRL-CAD along with your proposal, and communication is essential. Lots of great ideas and talent, so keep the discussions coming.

Hi All, there is an opportunity for 2024 GSoC participants to meet with mentors informally to get to know applicants better and for anyone to ask questions. The meeting is scheduled for today (Thursday 28 March) at 1700 UTC and will be on Google Meet. The link to join will be provided about a half hour prior to the meeting.

Hello, I want to contribute to the project went through the above links, I was not able to discover
where to find the issues

There are lots of resources to find issues once you've obtained the code and got a compilation working. @Divy singhvi @Vedan Yadav

You can look at the BUGS and TODO text files in the checkout which have hundreds of items of varying complexity. There's also https://brlcad.org/~sean/ideas.html which has lots of topics (some are out of date or in-progress, so discuss to discover). About half of the topics at https://brlcad.org/wiki/Google_Summer_of_Code/Project_Ideas are valid, half are not (so again, discuss to discover which). Lastly there are last year's GSoC list at https://github.com/opencax/GSoC/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+label%3A%22GSoC+2024%22+label%3A%22Project%3A+BRL-CAD%22 which hasn't been updated yet but has topics worth discussing.

Hello everyone,

My name is Kandula Sandeep Kumar, and I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology, Warangal. I am also working on a Bachelor of Science in Data Science and Programming from IIT Madras through an online program.

I’m wanted contribute to open-source projects. My technical skills include:
Programming Languages: Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
Frameworks: Flask, Vue.js, Bootstrap
Libraries: pandas, scikit-learn
Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, Sqlite3

I’ve worked on projects, including:
Chatbot Development: A chatbot built with Dialogflow, Vue.js, and FastAPI for an interactive interface and backend integration.
Laptop Price Prediction: An ML-based project that involves data preprocessing, visualization, and building predictive models.

I wanted to work on Project: Geometry Verification and Validation (V&V) GUI in Qt

This project involves developing a GUI that checks geometry files for common issues like topology and solidity errors. The goal is to improve an existing prototype by enhancing usability, expanding the types of issues it can detect, and integrating AI for error identification and repair. The tool will provide an interactive interface and generate reports for auditing geometry issues, similar to compiling source code. If there are any helpful documents, or tips to follow, please let me know. I’m looking forward to learning, collaborating, and making useful contributions to the project.
