Interesting. https://github.com/Kimbatt/detria backed code was able to e -m1 the model from https://grabcad.com/library/yacht-23-m-1 successfully, where the poly2tri version crashed.

And the result for the NIST 7-10 composite actually appears to be slightly better quality :
