Hi my name is Pulkit Gera. Im a 3rd year student at IIIT Hyderabad. I am currently doing research in computer graphics. Please if someone could guide me how to get started, that would be great. looking forward to contribute
Welcome @Pulkit gera! Disclaimer: I am a student/beginner as well, but I think a good way to get started would be to first compile BRLCAD from source. From there, BRLCAD has a list of recommended starting points that can be found at http://brlcad.org/wiki/Deuces#Getting_Started
hi @Pulkit gera be sure to check out http://write.flossmanuals.net/contributors-guide-to-brl-cad/a-call-to-arms/ too
and welcome! what is your interest?
hello
hello @Daniel Wang :)
Welcome @Daniel Wang!
Just submitted my first task https://codein.withgoogle.com/dashboard/task-instances/5434072998871040/ ...
can somebody check it out and review it
@Mikki Jhuria congrats! yes, someone will. thanks!

Hi, I am Lenix Lobo, an undergrad student from India. I am a computer graphics enthusiast and am interested in contributing to the ray tracing module within BRL-CAD. How can I get started contributing?
Welcome @Aman Kumar and @xixi! The first step to contributing would be, of course, compiling BRLCAD from source. After that, BRLCAD has a list of beginner tasks here (http://brlcad.org/wiki/Deuces) that can help familiarize you with the code.
welcome @xixi ! can you tell us more about yourself?
ditto @Aman Kumar
Hi , I'm Jagadish , I am 2nd year btech student from India , though I'm pursuing mechanical engineering, since we use cad , I would like to contribute to brl cad as part of gsoc , I want to help in making an exporter for Stp files , though I'm still trying to make sense of the source code :stuck_out_tongue: , and although I new to contributing for open source orgs , I'll learn fast
Hello Mentors Team BRL-CAD !

I'm beginner in Open Source , I'm Passionate for Technology .
I have read and gone through the description , And I am interested to work with BRL-CAD Projects for GSOC 2024 ,
particularly in ;
Neural Rendering (AI Project) (#90)
I am having good exposure to Machine Learning Concepts .
Please , guide me for next steps !
Sincerely ,
Omkar
Hi @Omkar Nikam and thanks for the introduction. It sounds like you have some background relevant for the neural rendering project. The next steps will be to climb the learning curve to understand BRL-CAD better so you can write an appropriately scoped proposal. Towards that end, I suggest compiling BRL-CAD from source checkout (see brlcad.org/wiki/Compiling), and do some of the modeling tutorials available on the website (various on brlcad.org/wiki/Documentation under MGED/modeling tutorials).
I hope this message finds you well. I'm [Abdul Ahad], and I'm eager to contribute to the Geometry V&V GUI project at BRL-CAD.
I've reviewed the project details on the website and would appreciate access to previous materials to better understand the ongoing work. My skills in qt and C/C++ align with the project requirements.
I would like to discuss the project further at your earliest convenience.

Hi Abdul! Welcome to our community. To get started you can go with this order for the project you mentioned.
You can follow https://brlcad.org/wiki/Compiling for installing brlcad.
Ok thanks.
Thank you !
