Hi, I'm participating in Google Code-In! This is my first time, and I'm so excited to see the variety of interesting tasks offered by Fedora Project!
Hi! I'm participating in Google Code-In, my favorite tasks are modelling tasks (one task that I'm interested in is modelling a rotating yin yang in 3D).
Hello there. This is Vikramaditya from India. Hope to learn a lot and make some meaningful connections with you all.
I am really excited about the 3D designing part here. Open-source seems interesting to experiment with.
welcome @Hrishikesh Sharjith @Mayur Nath and @Vikramaditya Singh ! Can you tell me what has been the most challenging task so far and which has been the most fun/interesting?
@Sean i am new to 3d designing learning to use brl-cad from online documentation but they aren't very easy to understand ,
the tasks are very interesting as well as challenging at the same time, currently working on "Model a ball and jacks" :)
i have some questions
1>how i can group the objects in brl-cad so that i can move them all together instead of one by one ?
2>what are regions ?
@Karan S Bisht I'm working on the same task currently.
@Thusal Ranawaka this is your first gci?
@Karan S Bisht Yes.
@Thusal Ranawaka me too :P
@Karan S Bisht How much tasks have you done currently?
@Thusal Ranawaka i dont know much but i have done more of product testing tasks around 8 and you
@Thusal Ranawaka and you
@Thusal Ranawaka do you know how to group object in archer
@Karan S Bisht Don't use archer use mged.
I have done 10 tasks.
@Thusal Ranawaka how to acces mged
wow
@Thusal Ranawaka i downloaded brl-cad but i got archer
@Karan S Bisht When you download BRL-CAD you will get archer and mged both.
@Thusal Ranawaka ok i am tring to install it again is mged is easier

Hello Everyone!
I am new to BRL-CAD (from GCI) and I'm very excited to learn more about 3-D Modelling and design. For people who are experienced at this, do you have any tips which would help a beginner like me? Thanks!
welcome @Alex Liu ! biggest tip would be to talk with others as much as possible here on zulip and/or anywhere else, but to communicate
open source is all about community, so no need to be shy. just patient :)
@Sean Cool! Thanks and I'll remember to ask around :)
@Karan S Bisht if you've not done the tutorial tasks yet, you should definitely start there before taking on the modeling tasks.
Hey everyone! I'm participating in the GCI and I'm very interested in completing the task titled 'Model a chess scene using matrices (task #1 of 2)'!
Hi @Faye M and welcome! Please let us know what you think of the chess tutorial.
BRL-CAD main repository has between a: 0-7000, b: 7001-70000, or c: 70001-100000 commits, Can somebody please help me with this I checked their github page but was unable to figure out the no. of commits.
@Mikki Jhuria the main repository is not on github. look on the sourceforge project site
