Hey guys, I suggest that we start a topic listing/discussing things that we've learned about as participants in GCI; I think it'd be pretty neat to come back when the contest ends and take a look at all the things GCI has or hasn't taught us. After-all, putting the contest prizes aside, I'm sure a lot of us are here to learn and grow as individuals. I'll start off with some things I've studied in the past few weeks because of BRLCAD:
1) CMake build structures
2) Attribution (it's customary to attribute a creator even if they don't explicitly ask for it)
3) Basic 3D Modelling -- I had no prior experience so this was interesting
4) General understanding of computer graphic terms such as ray tracing/ ray casting, parallel projection, orthogonal projection, oblique projection, homogeneous coordinates, etc....
I'm looking forward to coming back in the next month or so and smiling at how silly I was for not understanding something incredibly simple :P
@Mahdi I suggest claiming the "blog about gci" task and write up your experience there! you can add to it more as GCI goes on
That's a good idea! I think I'll start a small blog detailing my experiences with BRLCAD so I can have something pleasant to look back on :) Thanks.
Tried css and html and enjoyed
@Mitesh Which task did you do?
@Mahdi Did you do your blog? i'm interested in reading it :)
I learnt a lot about 3D modelling and how to work with different formats:grin:
This year I have board examination.. All my friends are serious....but GCI has different aura....Didn't had time till now so couldn't complete task...but after completing school subject course and working on tasks is completely different fun and enjoyable
@Mitesh Which task did you do?
i did this task- "404 page not found"
Even I have my boards this year
@Mahdi Did you do your blog? i'm interested in reading it :)
even i would like to read it

I've learnt how to build and compile project using CMake and it's been very interesting to learn about 3D modeling! Also I have received a small 3D printer for Christmas and I will try to print some models I made using BRL-CAD.
Even i learnt to use CMake.
if you guys agree then can you pls tell me how many tasks have you done?
I've done 12 tasks so far. And you?
14
Good job!
same to you buddy
I had done 8 tasks earlier this month, around 10-12, Still haven't done another task due to exams and problems with my PC.
Just Installed Xbuntu 17.10, Repaired Monitor's power supply, Merged partitions and now I have about 26 GB free space on Ubuntu partition.
present C++ is very tricky :joy:
Time and tide waits for none
never seen a better timing
